The Hamptons
Providing Excellence in Care
Events Past & Forthcoming
Here at The Hamptons, we will always encourage residents to continue leading a full and stimulating life, doing the things that they love most, just as they would have done when living independently.
That is why we are dedicated to holding frequent events for residents and their loved ones to enjoy. These events are tailored to various interests and preferences, ensuring there is something for everyone to get involved with.
Any dates which are historically memorable nationwide or relate to important current affairs are always respected and acknowledged (eg VE Day, Remembrance Sunday, Royal events and milestones etc) as well as the celebration of religious and cultural events throughout the year.
We aim to host regular monthly events, giving residents, their families and friends input, choice and opportunity to put forward valuable suggestions to the management team about the types of events they would like to see hosted the most.
Since taking ownership of the business at the end of May 2024, we have already hosted several events, with each being better than the last as we are getting to know our resident group, and those close to them.
Summer Barbecue and Garden Party - 22nd August 2024
Reflected on as the biggest success yet, it was with great pleasure that our Chefs catered for over 60 people at this event, which was held within the scenic gardens of the home, throughout the afternoon.
Residents, their families and friends, and our hardworking team of staff all enjoyed a variety of tasty barbecued foods with something for everyone, regardless of any special dietary needs. There were cold dishes such as pasta salads to complement, and not forgetting… Refreshments from our Cocktail / Mocktail Bar!
Despite fears that the Great British weather may scupper our plans, the Summer Barbecue and Garden Party was thoroughly enjoyed by all, with many people eager for information on any other upcoming events.
Home Manager Kim was proud to feed back that whilst showing relatives out, they had expressed how lovely it was to see the home so vibrant and lively and what a wonderful time they’d had.
Other comments included how beautifully detailed the décor and tableware was put together for the event, and words of thanks were offered to the staff teams both at the forefront and behind the scenes, for working so hard to make the event as enjoyable as it was.
Capulet Care Introductions - Meet The Team
Afternoon Tea – 20th June 2024
Cheese & Wine – 27th June 2024
These first 2 events were put together at relatively short notice, as we wanted to give all residents and families the opportunity to meet the Senior Management Team and put forward any questions they may have had, as soon as possible following the takeover.
Our dedicated team of kitchen staff, led by Head Chef Damien, who works across all 3 homes within the Capulet Care group, laid on a spread of delicious and appetising sweet and savoury snacks, which were very much enjoyed by all.
Residents enjoyed the Afternoon Tea, and the following week, several of their families joined them, attending the Cheese & Wine Evening and leaving with alleviated anxieties, having met with our friendly team of Senior Managers. Those who could not make it at short notice thanked us for the opportunity and asked to be kept up to date with when further events would be held.
Pub Grub and a Tipple! - The Norwood Arms - 3rd June 2024
All residents were approached with the suggestion of joining their peers for a get together at the local Public House, for lunch and a little of whatever else took their fancy! Over two thirds of the home were delighted and opted to come along, travelling in groups via taxi, supported by staff.
Spending the entire afternoon chatting, making memories, eating and drinking, the 24 residents returned feeling upbeat, relaxed, refreshed, and full of smiles. They also expressed how fulfilling it feels to still have the opportunity to be out and about in the community, regardless of their residence in a care home setting.
Many people perceive that these previously ‘normal’ activities of daily living will be elements of life which they will have to surrender when moving into a care home. Not at The Hamptons!
